Change Healthcare Outage Information
On February 21, 2024, Change Healthcare, a software and data analytics subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group's Optum unit, experienced a cybersecurity incident that resulted in nationwide product outages impacting payers, providers and pharmacies. Health Net's internal systems were not compromised, but full scope and extent of the cybersecurity incident on Change Healthcare's network and operations—and any related impact on data—is not yet known. We are aware that Change Healthcare's outage has impacted some services for our providers. Change Healthcare has not provided a timeline for resolution. Health Net is continuing to work in collaboration with Change Healthcare to understand the extent of this incident. We recognize that this situation is disruptive and are working quickly to ensure continuity of care and minimize the disruption of the Change Healthcare outage for providers.

On April 22, 2024, UnitedHealth Group issued a press release, providing an update on the Change Healthcare cybersecurity incident that occurred on Feb. 21, 2024. Given the size of the data impacted, the investigation to determine whose data is impacted is expected to take several months. UnitedHealth Group believes this situation will impact "a substantial proportion of people in America" and is offering immediate credit monitoring and identity protection services, as well as a dedicated contact center to address questions.
