Health Net Awards More Than $55,000 to Health Centers for National Health Center Week
Date: 08/16/24
Every August, health centers around the nation are recognized and honored for their dedication to providing quality and accessible healthcare services to their communities. National Health Center Week (NHCW) was August 4-10, and Health Net awarded more than $55,000 to various health centers throughout California.
Community Health Centers (CHCs) are a vital part of our healthcare system, serving as primary care providers for millions of individuals in underserved and low-income communities. These facilities offer a wide range of services, including medical, dental, mental health and preventative care. This makes them an essential resource for maintaining overall health and well-being.
We appreciate the work that health centers and their staff, board members and supporters do for the health of the community. Supporting NHCW allows us to not only recognize the importance of these facilities, but also to give back and invest in their continued success.
The awarded funds will help:
- Raise awareness and advocate for CHCs;
- Highlight the role that CHCs play in providing access to quality care;
- Support the CHC staff who make it possible to provide quality, comprehensive healthcare services;
- Educate communities about the services available at CHCs; and
- Foster partnerships that help address the whole person health of individuals and families
This year, Health Net supported the following health centers:
- AltaMed
- Altura Centers for Health
- Arroyo Vista Family Health Center
- Camarena Health
- Comprehensive Community Health Centers, Inc.
- Eisner Health
