Health Net Grants Will Help Improve Health Outcomes for Millions of Californians
Date: 06/24/20
Health Net recently funded grants of more than $3.5 million to support better health care for millions of people. The grants will help improve health outcomes among the Medi-Cal population – close to one third of all Californians. People across the state will have better access to care because of these much-needed grants.
California law requires providers to collect data that captures their interactions with patients. This information is called "encounter data." It helps the state track health care trends and put best practices into place. Health Net's grants will support patient encounter data collection and reporting:
- $2.55 million will be used to improve encounter data tracking.
- $1 million will go to Manatt Health to help close gaps found in the California health care system.
Health Net grants went to these 13 Medi-Cal providers:
- Community Medical Center – San Joaquin, Solano, Yolo counties
- HealthRIGHT 360 – San Francisco County
- San Benito Medical Associates – San Benito County
- Altura Centers for Health – Tulare County
- Family Healthcare Network – Tulare, Kings counties
- Kern Pediatrics – Kern County
- Omni Health Centers – Kern, Fresno, Kings counties
- Global Care – Los Angeles County
